You Don't Have to be Perfect to be Healthy

If I could go back and tell my 20- something-year old self just ONE thing... it would be that you do not need to be perfect to be healthy.

The majority of girls and women that I talk to are always telling me that *unhealthy* thing they do. And, whether they have shame around it or not ask me "how do I develop willpower to stop eating this?"

My unpopular answer is...

It's nothing to do with willpower.

And... you are allowed to eat those things.

One of the main reasons why dieting never works - nor trying to eat perfectly and cut out everything under the sun..

Is that it leads to you ONLY thinking about that one thing. Truly. We treat the whole "you want it more when you can't have it" thing as if we can outgrow that once we are older. But, we don't. We don't like restrictions placed on ourselves.

Going back to *perfection* in eating. The BIGGEST issue here is that there is no ONE way of eating that is going to be beneficial for every single human.

But also, life is truly meant for enjoyment and saying YES to a burger on a casual Tuesday. if you want it.

If you're on the path to making healthier choices because you're tired all the time, or have something else going on that's not really allowing you to live your best life - by ALL means. Make those changes.

I'm just saying it doesn't have to be perfect to be healthy.
